Internet Philosophy

Internet philosophy is an open philosophy for anyone curious to explore technology and its human implications.

Open philosophy: public, inclusive, and in conversation with readers and thinkers across disciplines.

Anyone curious: scientists, builders, farmers, students, philosophers, engineers, entrepreneurs, even politicians. The aim is to be accessible without sacrificing rigour.

Technology and its human implications: All essays explore a current technology or aspect of modern life, motivated by the pursuit of human and planetary flourishing.

I’m still figuring out what this entails—I imagine it will continue to evolve.

I felt internet philosophy needed to exist because

  1. Technologies are rapidly shaping the way we live.

2. Philosophy is the method for exploring the implications of technology on life.

3. This philosophical method is available to everyone, and each of us brings a unique perspective to this conversation.

4. A culture where more people engage in this inquiry benefits us all.

If that vision resonates, join the community.

Cadence

In an age where text can be instantly generated, publishing less can be a virtue.

Internet philosophy optimises for quality alone. Major essays will be published only when they’re worth your time (~ every 1 – 2 months).

There’ll be sketches, notes, reading lists and interviews in the interim.

Finally

Among other things, internet philosophy is a vote for the kind of internet you want to see.

Your attention matters.
